Something magic is about to happen…
This time of year, Christmas, is magical. A red silver sparkling colorful time where almost all children believe in Santa Claus and his elf’s. Even the adults feel the magic in the air when decorating the Christmas tree, swirling little lights around its green branches. For Tata it must have felt like Christmas when suddenly out of a magic swirl Squack came into her life. Startled at first, but then all too happy to return to Africa and show her new found friend all the things she loves so much.
Every time you see a swirl in the book something magical is about to happen. Like in our childhood dreams we often dream that we can fly and we do not want to wake up, clinging to the magical feeling of flying. Tata&Squack love flying too. As you can see them during their Big Journey hanging on a parachute or flying over the Ngorongoro crater in the little zebra-striped plane. Watching flamingos, jewel beetles, foxes and crowned cranes. At the end of the Big Journey, they even fly unwillingly through the air. If you want to know how that story ends read their adventure and you will find out. For now I will swirl my own little lights around the Christmas tree. Maybe this magical time will give me angel wings even for one night.
