Here you will find stories about the making-of my illustrations, the websites and the twikga books. The corona pandemic has been going on for more than a year now. A good time to go through our archives. But like a lot of people we are starting to loose our patience. We are looking forward to travel again. To photograph wildlife in faraway places, to travel to friends and family, go to events, visit museums, to feel free again, instead of locked up…

What you love is what you cherish. We believe that opening your hart to the small wonders of life will make you appreciate what you have and passionate about preserving the world around you. Sadly, in times of climate change the urgency of wildlife conservation is brought right to our doorsteps. We realize how privileged we are to travel the world and hope that by sharing our pictures with a broader audience, through our websites, exhibitions, books and social media, that we may contribute to the protection of the places we were fortunate enough to visit over the years…

twikga publishing stories

Here you will find the stories about the twikga books and twikga Verlag, a small, independent publishing company, which was based in Hamburg. The company seized to exist when we decided to move back to Holland. But while it lasted we worked hard and did amazing things with a small team of great women! The twikga books aimed to open the hearts of its readers for the wilderness, with its diversity of animals, plants and landscapes. We published books for the child in us. Wilderness, discovering things and imagination were important elements. The books were/are educational as they combine fact and fiction. We published four books in three languages, went to the Children’s Book Fair in Bologna, organized events and sponsoring and made a lot of children happy…
